I Will Be Your Bloom [Episode 3] (Japanese Drama 2022)

Updated: Sep 27, 2023

Summary of Episode 3:

In this episode of "I Will Be Your Bloom", Ms Kousaka becomes 8loom’s main manager. She plans to turn the 8loom boys into Chayney by making various decisions for them without hearing the boys’ or anyone else’s opinions. For instance, she wanted the female lead to leave so that the boys can become more independent. Through her methods, the boys become more famous, but they’re not recognised for their performing skills. Things get serious when the house is in a mess the night before a TV interview. The female lead speaks up for the boys. The adults help to clean up the house while the boys prepare for their interview. Ms Kousaka witnesses the positive influence the female lead and Mr Kenji are to the boys. She apologises and they now work as a team to support the boys.

Thoughts:

  • Ms Kousaka is a little extreme but she makes a point. The boys need to learn to clean up after themselves and grow up. The female lead may need to think about chores delegation and get them involved instead of doing everything for them.

  • Wow, the main leads are spending so much alone time together sia! The female lead’s way of teasing the male lead with the puppy noises is so affectionate. I guess the behaviour aligns with her character, but does she not realise how misleading it can be?

  • Information overload! This episode was so chaotic with so many things happening at the same time - the female lead’s sister’s romantic mishap, her sister's random interactions with Naruse, Ms Kousaka’s backstory, Mr Kenji’s backstory, the male lead’s interactions with the little dog, Yuririn's appearance at their dorm to host an interview, Mr Kenji's boyfriend and the male lead's request to go on a date with the female lead?

  • Aiyah, I don't need to watch the next episode to know that he needs to do some research to write a love song for the group lo. Otherwise, it's too sudden for him to become so open about his feelings.

  • The screenwriter's presentation of the main leads' relationship is a little confusing though. There are several "romantic" scenes, but the show also directs our attention to their age gap. For instance, the female lead says this line "see, there are four adults here. So leave the rest to us" --> let us adults clean up the mess that you children created. This makes me less hopeful that they'll end up together at the end, erps.

  • After watching 3 episodes, it seems that every episode has a major challenge that the characters need to overcome and the relationship development between the main leads is the side story. I'm excited about the side story, but the main story is not bad too.
